Two Years of All That Life Stuff!

Yup, I missed my blogiversary again. Which is crazy because it’s also my wedding anniversary. Sorry Eric! I’m guessing that I scheduled my post ahead of time to publish on September 13th. Otherwise I have no idea why I would have started a blog on my anniversary.

So technically it’s not two years of All That Life Stuff, but it is two years of this blog.

The blog started as Momma Bear Life. Which I thought was so clever, and I loved the header and logos for it. But then I thought about how I didn’t want to necessarily write a ‘mommy blog’ I wanted to write more about life and my journey in it.

So in a fit of reclamation I named the site Ani Kay. For me! In all honesty the idea I had for this blog was that it was going to be a magazine type thing, with tips and tricks and all sorts of informative posts to show that I am an expert on whatever you may need.

And then I realized that that’s just not me. I am just a person who enjoys writing about my life and my family. So I changed the site again, to the blog you see before you, All That Life Stuff.

On a side note, I have trouble with commitments.

Last year I wrote about my favorite posts from the first year, and you can check that out here.

These are my favorite posts from year two:

Prague Was Nothing Like I Expected
Oh Prague, how I loved that city. It quite literally changed my life. Oh, right, I forgot to tell you the story of my Prague tattoo! I promise to write a post about it before the end of the year.

The {Not So} Glamorous Side of Traveling
I can really feel where I was when I wrote this post. I haven’t traveled in a while, and I know it can be hard to forget the things we go through when we are removed from them. Also, I love that the slug for this post is travel-hard.

KonMari, Hygge, and the Commodification of Wellness
I had been wanting to write about the commodification of wellness for ages, and this gave me a fun and comfy platform for that.

Coffee and Cake Catch Up: Sharing is Caring
I love round up posts of all of my favorite things. I would love for this type of post to be a regular feature on this blog.

I Lost 20 Pounds, And That’s As Heavy as 1/5th of a Toilet!
I had this post written in my head months before I actually reached 20 pounds down. This post makes me so happy for what it represents and for the absolute absurdity of it.

Oh Where, Oh Where Have I Been? Work and Family Travel
This post just makes me happy. I love a post that highlights fun and wonderful things. And this one was about London, and I loved London so much that I had to add it to my list of favorite posts.

In my second year of blogging on this blog I wrote 70 posts, and I really started to get a better feel for what I want to be writing and how I want to be writing.

It’s amazing to look back on each year of writing and see all the things I’ve done, and shared. And it honestly inspires me to write more in year three!

Here’s to another year of posts and absurdity. Thank you for reading along with me, and making me feel awesome with every post!

Thank you Hannah! And it really is. I love looking back on the early days, and I can’t wait until I am ten years down the road. I can’t imagine what that is going to look like! I am so glad you are along for the ride!

I need to hear that tattoo story!!

I love your blog so much. I don’t even remember how I found it but I am so glad I did.

Maybe you should change your blog name every year to keep it spicy. Maybe I should too. We could start a trend.

You are the sweetest, and I LOVE that you love my blog. And see, the I have to get to your level before I change my name again. Your following grows with each change! Maybe we’ll switch off each year, this way we have two years to get people comfortable before we pull the rug out.

Sounds good to me. Also, let’s get on our tee-shirt company. Also, I have been binge-watching GG again (I haven’t watched in a few years and I don’t know who I am) and I think of you all of the time. 🙂

Gah, I know! My dad keeps asking me about it, I’m such a slacker! Ok I’m going to give him the designs we talked about this weekend.

I love that you think of my when you watch Gilmore Girls. Like, so much!

Happy blogiversary! I’ve been thinking a lot lately about changing my blog name as I have started pulling away from writing about homeschooling as my boys get older and older… but I can not for the life of me come up with a “cool” blogging name that I like.

Thank you! Changing the name is such a pain, but I think it really does help the site feel more comfortable. I likened it to putting on pants that fit right. The hard part is coming up with a name you like that isn’t already taken!

Congratulations on your blogiversary! I can so relate to wanting to change the blog name! (I wanted to change mine almost from the day I chose it, in 2011. But, unlike you, I haven’t had the courage to do it! I feel like it will be SO MUCH work and time. Was it? Did you lose followers, or is that just my own anxiety?) I’m looking forward to reading your favorite posts from year two.

It wasn’t hard, and I didn’t lose followers, but I totally get the anxiety of it! I worked with my host to help me move everything, and if you keep your old address you can have it automatically redirect. Also you can merge the two sites for things like Bloglovin’.

You can do it! I would just suggest reaching out to your host to see how they can help.
