Fitness Friday #1 – Weight Watchers – #atlsfitnessfriday

I stated Weight Watchers last week. And one thing you should know about folks on Weight Watchers is that all they want to do is talk about Weight Watchers. And I am no exception.

I think that’s part of the brilliance of the program. When you live it, it becomes more than a habit. And the more into it you get, the more progress you make.

Plus, when you have to fit everything you want to eat into a small amount of points, you become a food ninja!

Being on Weight Watchers instantly makes you a food ninja, able to fit endless piles of food into a tiny amount of points. #WeightWatchers #atlsfitnessfriday Click To Tweet

So, here’s how last week went:

Weight Loss

Fitness Friday #1 - Weight Watchers - #atlsfitnessfriday

My week on Weight Watchers went from Wednesday to Sunday, since I started on the second. I started the program at 162.2 pounds and at my weigh-in the following Monday I was at 159.2. Three pounds down so far!

In my post about Cauliflower Crust Pizza, I mentioned the blue dot day. I am supposed to eat 23 points a day, and I have 35 weekly points that I can use whenever. For me though, 23 points is really not enough for a day, so I’ll use five points a day from my weeklies for a total of 28 points. And as long as I stay within those 28 points, I get a blue dot day.

My goal is to only have blue dot days.

My exercise was pretty minimal during this week, since my focus was mostly on eating the right things. My goal is always to walk 10,000 steps, though I only hit it once this week:

Wednesday: 3,847 steps
Thursday: 10,919 steps
Friday: 5,597 steps
Saturday: 5,289 steps
Sunday: 8,686 steps

I started Couch to 5K recently, but you’ll have to read about that in the next Fitness Friday 🙂

I’m pretty happy with the way I ate during my first week. I was getting used to eating more fruits and vegetables with each meal, and I stayed in my blue dot range.

Some things to note: One day I had ice cream for dinner, and I have no regrets. Halo Top is a gift from the gods, and if you haven’ t tried it, you must stop reading right now and go buy some.

Also, I take an Elderberry vitamin every day, and I hate that I have to track it, because it’s one precious point that I could be putting toward more Halo Top, but Weight Watchers is all about accountability and I’m keeping myself accountable.

My first week was pretty easy, considering it was a complete 180 from my eating in December, and most of 2018, if we’re being honest. Though I’ll admit that I got a migraine the first day, and some serious bubble guts for the first three days. But by the end of the week, I was rocking it without feeling like an overblown balloon.

My mindset has also started to change, and in an attempt to get the family to be more active I took everyone to Kent Falls on Sunday.

Unfortunately it was too cold to do the whole run, but we did climb quite a few sets of steps and we saw some beautiful views.

Congrats! I LOVE how open you are about sharing your life. It’s so hard to put numbers and complete truth out there. You’re totally my example.

Thank you Tricia! And I am putting those numbers front and center now to keep myself accountable. I am really quick to change my mind, or to be all into something and then leave it behind. But if I put it out there for the world to see, I better put my money where my mouth is!

Oh, friend, I love your motivation so much! Can you send it over to me?? I am back on low-carb (will be sharing that this week) but with Anna still home, me being depressed she is leaving, and just WINTER, I am struggling.

Let me say, I love WW so much and lost so much weight on it. I actually used my cheat points on one giant day of gluttony and still managed to lose 25 pounds on it and I felt SO MUCH better. I so wish I could go on it again. Maybe I will kick start with WW THEN do low-carb.

I am so proud of you! 🙂

Thanks Hannah! I’m on my third week, and I’m already finding it easier than it was before. I don’t even think about it now, I’m ready and know what I should and shouldn’t be eating. It’s a journey though, for sure!

Ooh! I love how you are sharing your food plan too! Great job on the weight loss. I find keeping moving is hardest in winter. The other three seasons I’m pretty good about getting out and hiking with my boys at least 3 times a week but when the freezing temps hit we get stuck in a rut… usually on the couch under a blanket.

Thank you! Oh my goodness I feel you! I had to stop my running routine and start doing an indoor program. It’s so freaking cold outside!

Congrats to you on your WW journey. I swear it is the very best program out there because you can eat real food from all the food groups! I’ve been a Lifetime member for almost 18 years, stick with it and work it, you’ll be so glad you did. Halo Top is so good it’s scary – ha! Glad you linked up with TBB today!

Thank you! And I agree, it’s an amazing program and every time I’ve done it I’ve seen progress. I want to get to lifetime so that I can maintain once I reach my goal. Congratulations on reaching it!! And yes, the candy bar one is calling my name every day, lol.

Great job! I’m on a weight loss journey myself. I’ve lost about 40 pounds, but this past year was a lot of up and down, staying the same, so I’m really hoping to get more on track this year. It sounds like you’re off to a great start, which is wonderful. And inlinkz doesn’t have a free option anymore? I know I pay like $3 a month for mine, but I thought they still had a free version. Hmmm…

If it does have a free option I couldn’t find it, or maybe the free one was just links and no pics. 40 pounds! That’s amazing! What are you doing for your program? Are you still trying to lose our are you maintaining now?
