Check out my post from this day last year: 2018 New Year’s Resolutions – All About Healing and Growth
It’s 2019, y’all. Seriously, what? December was a blur, as it often is. And the start of the year, like every start of the year since my son was born SEVEN years ago (again, what?!), was completely insane.
Looking back on my December, I got a lot done, even though I felt like it whizzed by and left me spinning along with it.
I wrote in December about my Winter bucket list, which was sorely neglected. Of the things on that list, we did five things.
We attended a tree lighting ceremony
And we took a picture with Santa
Some other things we did in December that were’t on my list included:
I upgraded my laundry room
This was more out of necessity than want. We decided that having a waterfall falling from our living room ceiling was not an acceptable occurrence and we had to replace the washer.
We went from this:
Can I tell you how much I love this laundry room?! And I haven’t even decorated yet. This room is a little piece of heaven right here on my second floor.
I rented a convertible in Miami
I figured if I had to be away from my kids during the holiday season, I might as well do it in style.
And I got to see the sunrise on the beach, which was breathtaking.
I posted my second YouTube video
The video was all about my monthly subscriptions, and it was super fun to create. Also, side note, creating videos takes such a long time! From shooting it, to editing it, to creating titles, and posting it on YouTube. Holy moly.
Jack got his blue belt in taekwondo
The blue belt is three belts below what Jack had in New Jersey, though he doesn’t seem to mind the set back. We lucked out because this school doesn’t make him spar, which means he tolerates a lot more from it. His last class made him spar every Friday and he hated it.
I had an amazing gingerbread chai latte
This may not see like something worth highlighting, but it was a really good chai latte.
December was kind of a chai month for me, and I easily had over a dozen, and they were all glorious. I discovered this local place near me called Jester’s, and it’s my new happy place. After the laundry room, of course.
I knit my first scarf
And even though I had the best of intentions, the end product looked pretty shabby. Luckily I took this picture when I first started it, and it looks way more impressive than the completed scarf, and will potentially lead you to believe that I’m actually awesome at knitting.
And last, but definitely not least, my daughter Lorelai taught me how to live life right, as she often does.
How was your December? What was the best part?
I am linking up with See You in a Porridge today! Check her out!
